All of Me wins Audience Award at Austin Film Festival!

We had two fantastic screenings at the Austin Film Festival during the last week of October. Needless to say, we were thrilled to be “home” where many of our family and friends joined us at the Galaxy 10 Theater and at the Long Center’s Rollins Theater.
On Sunday night, we sold out!!!  The majority of the film’s cast attended the screening along with Alex (director/producer, road-warrior/mom), Deb (our talented cinematographer), and Andy (sound man extraordinaire).  Sunday’s Q&A was moderated by

I got back home from Colorado sooo tired but just in time to see an interview that KVUE did with Alex and me the day of our last screening at the Austin Film Festival.  Our segment had been bumped Wednesday night due to the weather so they moved it to Sunday and made it twice as long as originally planned.  All in all, it worked out well and the newscaster promoted our PBS Independent Lens broadcast on March

Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival

The day the Austin Film Festival wrapped up, Alex and I headed to Colorado Springs, CO to attend the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival.  The Festival, in its 26th year, features works by women or films that feature women subjects. We were thrilled to join the other filmmakers who attended the 3-day event and got to see some terrific films by some fantastic women filmmakers. An Austin Homecoming & a Canadian Premiere


Awesome news–All of Me will be making its Canadian premiere at the Calgary International Film Festival! The film will screen on September 27th at 7:30pm and September 28th at 12pm. For details on how to get tickets, check out the CIFF website.
And now–drumroll please–some even more exciting news: All of Me is coming back to Austin! We’ll be screening at the 20th Annual Austin Film Festival on October 27th and 30th! We are so excited about this. Austin is All

Our first WLS Support Group screening was a success!

On August 10, I was fortunate enough to share the evening with a lovely group of folks in Dallas, TX.  After the Cut (a Dallas based bariatric support group), the bariatric team/support group from Dallas Methodist Hospital, and several other bariatric groups from the Dallas area came together to organize a viewing of All of Me.  I was lucky enough to meet the organizers of the event, Shana Harden (After the Cut) and Dallas Methodist’s Bariatric director, Tammy Beaumont along
